In Finland, a trial has begun against a 27-year-old man accused of hundreds of sexual offenses against minors. According to investigators, between 2019 and 2022, he contacted children aged 9 to 15 through social media, including Snapchat, and coerced them into sending explicit photos and videos and performing sexual acts.
The crimes were uncovered by chance when police searched his phone as part of a separate investigation. The man has been charged with aggravated sexual abuse of children and the distribution of child pornography; he has partially admitted to the charges. The court has scheduled around 45 hearings, and the trial is expected to continue until at least the end of 2026.
