Alongside him, 12 other people aged between 28 and 73 are also standing trial for taking part in the rapes.
The 60-year-old man has been charged with 48 offenses committed since 2004. For more than two decades, he drugged his wife and subjected her to sexual abuse. The defendant’s name has not been disclosed to protect the victim’s identity.
The defendant has so far pleaded guilty to 15 offenses, including rape, sexual assault, and distributing nude photos of his wife without her consent.
According to investigators, the man regularly invited other people to his home to abuse the woman while she was under the influence of drugs. The other 12 defendants have pleaded not guilty, while another person involved in the case has already admitted to participating in the conspiracy and is awaiting sentencing.
